Born in 1910, he was a Czech film director and animator. Because of his creative use of special effects and animation in his films, he has often been called the ‘Czech Méliès’. His major works include The Deadly Invention(1958), The Jester’s Tale(1964), Morsky Sultan(1974) and Das Marchen Von Hans Und Marie(1980).
